Proper behavior training is the best way to ensure your dog’s safety -
and your peace of mind – both traveling and at home.

• Use a collar and leash for security and control.
Getting lost is the most common cause of pet death.
Use a sturdy collar and ID tag with a local or cell phone number,
and carry a recent photo of your dog. Also ask your veterinarian
  about microchipping your dog.
• Dog carriers are also useful. (Be sure it is strong, large enough for
your dog to stand up and turn around, has a place for food and water,
is well ventilated, has an absorbent-covered leak-proof bottom,
and closes securely. Label it with “LIVE ANIMAL” and both local and
  travel contact information.)
• Picking up after your dog is the hygienic and thing to do.
Carry pick-up bags, and a cleaning solution in case of accidents inside
  (20% white vinegar/water works well)..
